Cherry Brook: The Zoo on Rollercoaster Road

This is my first full-length short documentary. It is the story about the incredible dedication of the directors of the Cherry Brook Zoo. Len and Linda Collrin have lived and raised a family in the zoo for thirty years. It has been a constant struggle to keep it open, and things have been especially tough since the City of Saint John cut Cherry Brook’s funding seven years ago. The struggle has been ongoing, and is finally paying off. The city has restored some funding, but it isn’t enough. The Zoo only has three years left before it is overrun by deficits and forced to close. But the Collrins, and the zoos supporters, refuse to give up hope.

I think I may be going to this zoo tomorrow, with my best friend and her kids… I used to visit this zoo quite frequently when I was younger, and loved it ! I haven’t been there for quite some time, and I can’t wait to go back. It’s been the 3 years like you mentioned, and the zoo is still up and running. I am very proud to live close to it, because of the efforts to keep it running throughout the years. I hope the kids love it as much as I did !

  4. It’s great that you are getting thoughts from this piece of writing as well
as from our discussion made at this time.
